Construction Technology

Construction technology consists of two main courses: Cabinet Making and Construction I. In these courses students will learn about jobsite safety, construction math, tools and equipment, employability, and basic entry level skills into construction. Throughout these courses students will have the opportunity to earn real world certifications, as well as their OSHA 10 card.

MSHS has an extensive art program giving students the opportunity to create projects that encourage critical thinking, problem solving, and skill application. MSHS Visual Arts program provides students with industry opportunities, portfolio development, and provides space for our students to develop their own personal expression in the Arts. 

NOTE: *Foundations of Art is a required prerequisite for all of the art courses. Art courses can be taken in any order.

Teachers:

Mr. Borkowski graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BS in Industrial Technology Education in 2011 and in 2012 he started teaching at Manitou Springs High School. Mr. Borkowski is a second generation Industrial Technology teacher and runs his own small business where he sells chessboards.*Foundations of Art Drawing


Mr. Bonner graduated from Adams State College (now ASU) in 1994 with a BA in Fine art and a BA in Sports and Exercise Mgt. In 2019 he finished his Master of Arts degree in Art from Adams State University. He also coaches High School/Middle School Wrestling. Mr. Bonner has been at Manitou since 2013.

Ms. Gocinski graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2011 with two degrees; a BS in Art Education, and a BFA in Metalsmithing/ Jewelry Making. She started teaching at Manitou Springs High School in 2015.
